We left New York via the George Washington Bridge to start our east west bit and things started happening straight away. Just getting into the swing of things when a car in front of me travelling at about 80 miles an hour clipped a lorry and spun around infront of me coming backwards towards me, I swung right and it carried on backwards across the freeway and up and embankment. Trevor was behind me and both girls we shaken. A little further on we heard a noise and one of our bags flew off down the freeway. We stopped and Maggie and Trevor ran back and retrieved it from the middle of the six lane freeway!!!! Fortunately it was unharmed and we were ok. Yet again further on a police car pulled out in front of us after being hidden in the trees. We thought it was going to stop us but with lights flashing it had bigger fish to fry!!!!! We are in Amish country and when we stopped for a break they were everywhere. After this we had a smooth ride to Clarion where we stayed in a lovely hotel and everyone was really friendly. Our hotel porter's name was "Morgan". Had a great meal in a Roadhouse met the local football team who lost their first match of the season. Got up had a swim and gym and after a bit of shopping headed off for Elkhart about 320 miles. These Morgans are fantastic to travel in and fly like birds. We travelled through Pennsylvania, Ohio and are now in Indiana staying at the Holiday Inn in Elkhart a great hotel. We are heading for Chicago today and will be staying at the Palmer House Hilton tel.no3127267500 for a few days.

All this excitement and you haven't reached Route 66 yet. Sound like you are having a great time, and I'm very jealous.
